The conservative Muslim country is one of 12 nations to have qualified for the World Cup finals in Russia this summer.

"We want to offer a warm welcome to all our guests and we don't want them to feel like they're in a foreign country," the official told Reuters. "It's about the culture and image of our country."

The Qatar Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy announced that alcohol will not be sold at any of the stadiums hosting matches at the 2022 World Cup.

This decision is a result of a concern over fan safety, as well as the Islamic belief that alcohol is forbidden.
